On 28 February, our research group had the privilege of supporting Asian School of the Environment at NTU's Open House, welcoming prospective students, parents, and colleagues from 9.30 am to 6.00 pm. It was a full and rewarding day, and we came away energized by the curiosity and enthusiasm of everyone who stopped by.

We were proud to anchor the Society booth under the Environmental and Earth Systems Science (EESS) Program, where our lab members, Darya, Ronghua, Maurits, Meherwan, Sammie and Jena had the opportunity to showcase the meaningful and impactful work happening in our lab. A special shoutout goes to Maurits, Meherwan and Sammie who went above and beyond in leading multiple interactive activities on LiDAR, GIS and applications as part of the lab tour program throughout the day. Their energy, clarity, and passion made the sessions truly memorable for visitors of all backgrounds.

Throughout the day, we shared exciting ongoing projects with attendees, sparking genuine curiosity and many great conversations. Of particular interest were our work on CS2.0 and Nature Futures Framework (NFF), both of which drew enthusiastic responses among a wider audience and helped raise awareness on the various types of initiatives that students interested in EESS Society specialisation could work on. It was gratifying to see prospective students light up with interest, bounce ideas and we hope these interactions planted seeds for future collaborations and talent.

Events like Open House remind us why we do what we do, to focus not just within the depth of our research, but in engaging the broader community and inspiring the researchers of tomorrow. We look forward to welcoming new faces to Asian School of the Environment and continuing to grow the conversations started on that day!
