Nature-based solutions (NbS) have gained traction in Asia-Pacific over the last decade. While the benefits of these solutions are established for most urban contexts, more research is needed to examine their potential in informal settlements where communities are more vulnerable to various hazards like heat-stress, flooding and pandemics. A review by Research Fellow Erich Wolff and Research Associate Hanna Rauf dives deep into this research area, examining past NbS projects in informal settlements in Asia-Pacific.
